How's yer eye, Csar?? You're going to need to get some glamour shots now that you're sans glasses. Merle Norman used to provide this service at Perimeter Mall...these days, you probably just get airbrushed online.
The comment that Tere's mom made to her after she no longer recognized her really stuck with me. I dreamed that I was telling my sister the story and you were there, and then you and I started crying because we were so sad for Tere. Very poignant.
Haiku Monday is at my place this week. Theme is "bloom". Bring your 20/20s and play, won't you? xxoo fleur
Hi. I have responded to your entreaty.
I'm not sure about "sad for Tere." Those were about the last coherent words Roberta ever said to her. Nice way to go. You knew it was an honest opinion.
At half a mile, I'm 20/20. I cannot, however, see my food clearly without glasses, nor a page of type. Good thing I don't have to do much reading for my work.
Hey, Foam. Thanks.
You know, I realized a few days too late that I totally blew Haiku Monday a few weeks ago when Becca won but couldn't host. You came in second that week, but for some reason I suggested Moi, and I think Serendipity stepped up. I think I was used to not-for-judging Foamesque haiku, unless I've confused things horribly all the way around.
Anyway, glad you stopped by, because it prompts me to offer my apologies.
My last appointment with the ophthalmologist is on Tuesday, and I'll get a real eye exam. And then I'm going to (a different) optometrist and getting some real glasses, not this drugstore crap that comes presmudged and when I turn my vision goes all fun-house on me.
I have to remind myself that this was not elective or unnecessary surgery. I was legally blind in my right eye, and the other wasn't likely far behind. But even with my present glasses (or without), nothing comes into as clear as focus up close as with my (left) eye before the surgery. I can watch a traffic light change a mile away (literally), but I can't tell the difference between a comma and a period two inches in front of my face.
I am living the law of unintended consequences. But overall, it's great.
Hey Bob,
There's no need to apologize whatsoever. I had dropped out for a long time. Plus, there have been a couple of times where I've entered a 'koo but didn't participate. Most of the time I just plain forget to enter.
My eyes are not in the greatest shape either. Eventually I will need non elective surgery myself. So, I read your account of your eye adventures with interest. Here's to good vision.
Have a nice weekend. Don't drink too many green beers. You might end up seeing little green men where there are really non. :-)
Don't ya just love anymoose? Sigh..
